Checklist for Documents to Apply Abroad for Education

Planning to study abroad? Your study abroad consultant must have guided you or advised you on the importance of your college application. This is the most important step of your journey, and it is better if you plan ahead. It would be best if you started working on your college application months in advance to get into your dream college or course.

Here’s a list of documents you will need when applying to study abroad in various universities.

1. Application Form

This is the most significant document that will include all your personal and professional information. Abroad education consultant advises you to fill the form carefully with correct information. It is always better to double-check before submitting the document.

2. Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Most universities abroad include this important component for your application. In this part, you will mostly talk about your background, a reason to pursue the program in the stated university, and your career plans. Think carefully before writing your essay, as it would require your application to stand out from the crowd of thousands of applicants.

3. Academic transcripts

Study abroad consultants also advise candidates to submit academic records known as transcripts in abroad universities. Transcripts are like a consolidated mark sheet that includes all the courses you have taken in your grades, courses, credits, and degrees achieved.

4. Letter of Recommendation (LOR)

LOR is an academic letter of recommendation from any college professor, employee, or manager that provides details about your skills, expertise, achievements, experience, and contribution to your college or job. This letter will provide insight into your educational or professional life and help the admission council decide your admission accordingly.

5. Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume

Your resume will give a holistic inside of your academic and professional timeline. Abroad education consultant recommends that foreign-going candidates mention your degrees, certificates, achievements, internships, and relevant work experience. You can take the help of some professional or education consultant to draft your resume.

6. Test Scores

Your test scores will play the most crucial part and will impact your chances of getting into your preferred university or college. Therefore, it is mandatory to send your test scores with your college application.

Most countries and education institutions will demand to know whether you are proficient in the English language or not. This will require you to take the IELTS examination to provide proof that you can read, speak and write in the English language besides being able to converse in it. You will have to submit your IELTS scores with the application. Also, based on your choice of country and education institution, you will be required to take more journal standardized tests such as SAT or GRE.

7. Essays

Some educational institutions will also ask you to submit a study abroad essay to determine whether you are serious about your study abroad plans or not. This essay is going to be a great opportunity to make an impeccable first impression on the academic council. You can demonstrate to the university administration that you are a fine candidate for the course and are determined to pursue an education in their college.

Finally, it is crucial to have a valid passport for at least six months after your planned return date. If you don’t have a passport or it is about to expire, you can take the services of an abroad education consultant to apply for a new one or renew it.

Make sure you apply to your preferred universities or colleges before the deadline. To make the tedious application process easier, our experienced study abroad consultants will walk you through the entire process.
